Fruit Salad: Delicious & Healthy

If Guests are coming on short notice, what is a best appetizer for them? Fruit salad can be a best option. We all know the nutritious value of fruit repeating it over and over is just an unwanted material at the moment.

All you need to make a fruit salad are “fruits” but again there are certain fruits which should not be added in a fruit salad as they will ruin it all. So today I am going to tell you which fruits are best to add in a fruit salad to develop its taste and color and which fruits should not be added to prevent spoiling it.

First of all fruits that should be added include red sweet apples, a bunch of green grapes, seedless grapes is a plus point, some raspberries or strawberries, a handful of raisins and 2 to 3 peaches. When you are selecting apples for your fruit salad, make it sure that the apples are fresh and not over ripped. Press the apples from all side to check either its stiff or not. As soft apples will destroy the taste and also they will dissolve in the salad to make it a bit pulpy.

Grapes also come in two colors i.e. purple and green; both of them taste great where as purple grapes will give your salad a very dark look but green will make a fresh and eye-catching combination with red apples. Seedless grapes are recommended because seeds do not taste and look good in fruit salad. Raspberries or strawberries can be used alternatively. They are important to add taste so don’t think to withdraw them.

Raisins are beautiful small green tone grapes which are dried in sun to permit long term storage. These will help your salad with an extra sweet taste. Finally add a couple of pears in the salad but be aware of the fact that over ripped peaches will destroy the stunning look of the salad you need.

Taste can be added with the fruits but presentation can only be achieved by cutting the fruits appropriately in equal sizes and mixed properly so that the salad don’t not look messed up.

Now what should not be added in a salad and why? Fruits like bananas should not be added as they are squishy and soggy, cantaloupe are too bland and mild, so they cannot add any taste to your salad. Watermelons, tomatoes and lemons should also be avoided as they are too juicy and a salad with lots of juice will leave a bad impression on the guests. So be careful!
